Item Description

You can attach a small text description to a file or a folder in a Kryptel container. Select an item, then select Edit / Edit Comment menu command, and type some text in.

Kryptel does not use descriptions; it just shows them below the item names.

When Kryptel decrypts an item with an attached description, it exports the description to a special file named ‘DESCRIPT.ION’. Some file managers (Total Commander for instance) recognize that file and can show associated descriptions.

Item Keywords

You can assign any number of arbitrary keywords to a file stored in a Kryptel container. Select a file, then select Edit / Edit Comment menu command and type in keywords separated by commas. Or click the green + button to select them from the list of previously entered keywords.

Like descriptions, assigned keywords are shown below file names. Their primary purpose, however, is categorizing files for search operations.
